Aloha everyone,
I'm always impressed with the depth of knowledge present within this community and now I'm on another quest that isn't related to Hawaiian music per se but it is related to acoustic guitar. A few weeks ago, we visited Disney's California Adventure (the other newer half of the Disneyland complex in Anaheim.) In this park there is an attraction called the "Redwood Creek Challenge Trail" which is a playground type area with climbing ropes, bridges, rope slides and a replica of a ranger lookout tower. Around various points in this attraction are hidden speakers pumping out some pretty good fingerstyle acoustic guitar music. I've inquired at the park to find out who the artist(s) might be and if there is any commercially available CDs for purchase but was met with alot of blank expressions. After returning home, I've even tried contacting Disney via email and their reply was essentially "that is proprietary information that we won't divulge." Disney's policy seems rather silly to me - and unless this musician was paid millions, it would seem like nobody would agree to do music for Disney. Can you imagine telling people, yeah I created some great music but I can't divulge for whom, or where it is played. People would think you're nuts! So after all this rambling, I'm wondering is there anyone out in taropatch land that may have an idea of who is/are the artist(s) behind the music at this attraction?

Mahalo,

I recognized some Will Ackerman from his early albums. My wife thought she heard some Keola Beamer, but I wasn't with her at the time and didn't hear any Keola when I was there. I would definitely check out the Windham Hill collections for music similar in style and spirit. and possibly the Narada label, although they tend towards flamenco.

I'm checking with a friend who has some inside connections at Disneyland. I'll let you know if I get anywhere.

My goal is to be able to play as well as people think I can.
