The broadcast will go out on the internet and over the airwaves via over 400 radio stations around the world. The show will be a cross between a radio interview/performance and a concert. Over 300 people are expected to fill the "Kentucky Theatre", and John will play between 3 and 4 songs in addition to answering questions from host, Michael Johnathon. You can tune into the audio AND video broadcast by visiting: Webcast - Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour. John Cruz News - Happy Homecoming in Martha's Vineyard & Northampton: During the last week of his East Coast Tour, John had a fantastic homecoming in both Martha's Vineyard and Northampton, Massachusetts. On the Vineyard, John's return stirred a major buzz with the help of a great story in the island's main newspaper and a live radio performance on WMVY. The visit culminated in an advanced sell-out of the Katherine Cornell Theater. John was joined on-stage by old friend, John Caban, one of John's first bandmates. John received an equally warm greeting in Northampton where his concert was featured in three different print periodicals. He was also welcomed by local radio with live in-studio performances on WRSI and WRNX. In Northampton, John shared the stage with long-time friend - Joe Boyle. A post-show soiree was hosted by many old friends at the classic Piano Shop in the center of town - an awfully nice way to wrap-up the East Coast Tour. John Cruz News - European Style: After a solid 24 hours of train, taxi and air travel, John stepped onto the stage at Quiksilver's Private WCT Surf Contest Gala. Joined by excellent musician and Kauai surfing legend, Titus Kinimaka, John unleashed a nearly three hour performance - ending with an exuberant multi-song encore featuring John, Titus, Kelly Slater (six time world surfing champion) and Marloes Elswijk (Quiksilver Team Rider from Holland - she also has a Fantastic voice that I hope you have a chance to hear sometime down the road). The next day, Kelly gushed over the beauty of John's music on the surf contest's live internet broadcast that reached an estimated 50,000 viewers. Mahalo Kelly ! That covers it for now. Note that details about John's upcoming California shows are attached below. Feel free to forward info along to many folks on the West Coast. |
