I've been a litte scarce around here lately...
But families do drift and reconnect, right?
Trying to do a little less yada-yada und bs. in my posting life.
....but hey, I gotta be Me. Just for now I gotta be Mini-Me.

Meanwhile, tryin to get my 2 tunes ship-shape by Oct. 1.
But if you thinks I've missed something (especially in September) that might be a "must see/hear",
please say howdy, or drop an e-mail.
And tell everyone Kapila Kane says "Hey".
P.S. --got books, need beer. Send money.
Love, Kapila

Hey Kapila Kane,

Howzit crazy Maui roommate? Long time no talk. I just signed up on Taropatch and now I can respond to all your wacky comments. Glad to hear you submitted a couple of songs to the Taropatch CD. I just finished submitting mine too.

Hope all's well with you. When are you coming back to the Bay Area?

Aloha,

Doug

Hi Doug..
should have said, "why don't he call"...meanin' me.
How are things there...
Things good here, hear Konabob and Ke 'Olili are headin' through...almost like havin' Hawaii here.

Anyway, I don't mind spendin' a dime to talk...
We need to compare songs so we don't step on each other's sets--or else do some duets!

How's your family and also your dad?
Glad to see ya' posting.
It's a good family...shucks, they put up with me...

No St. George...are you talking Utah?
We're headin' to San Miguel de Allende for Day of the Dead...
Checking out Mariachi slack scene...
I prefer Hawaii and California...but she loves to travel and mingle with the locals..Me, I'm gonna take my cheap guitar, maybe a cheaper fiddle...find a beer, and become the Great White Mariachi...and try to find a lap pool! Hot Springs for sure.
Glad to see your back Pua Kai.

Yah - senior games for the old folks.... oh yeah, that probably doesn't include you. But she played v-ball with the usual crowd and he did all that hard biking - and got an overall trophy, jerseys, medals.... These are the same people though that think that all Hawai'ian music sounds the same.
By the way, HAPA is here on Dec 10th - good seats still available for the matinee - come on out and go with us and stay here! girls play v-ball at the beach Tues & Thurs. If you come, we'll find a kanikapila too... oh yeah, Henry Kamae plays Friday nights in Gardena (15 mins) for free - dinner for 2 ~ $15 ono ono!!
As far as Mexico goes - its' easy to join in with the locals - just play loudly. And of course have fun.
Much aloha!!

Hey Gordon!

Glad you reconnected w/Doug. I often think of you both (as well as everyone else) and our great moon-lit midnight-madness jams on the beaches of Napili. How's your mom doing, by the way?

Aloha,

Hi Maggie and Gordon, every month when I go to the San Jose open mic and see Lawrence, Cynthia, Julie, and Larry, I wish you guys and the rest of the Napili Midnight diehards (including Mr. and Mrs. Admin.) were there to join us. The last one was such a blast with Kona Bob and Shirley sitting in. Miss y'all and can't wait to hear you on the Taropatch CD.

Aloha,
Doug

Aloha Doug!

I love your name for the beach bunch (Napili Midnight Diehards)! A reunion for all participants is in order one of these days, don'tcha think?. Gotta make it to one of your open mics down there, too. It sounds like such a blast. Hope you all continue to make good music and have fun. Maybe I'll have enough guts to come up stage and do something with you all.

Malama pono,
Mags

Hey Gordon,

Are ya goin' next year? How about you, Doug? How about anyone else? Too early to decide just yet? Still in my shorts and in denial that summer is over (but it's getting cold now) and already thinking of Maui!!!!

Hey Gordon!
South which Bay? Santa Monica? Maggie's coming here Christmas to New Year... maybe Kiwini too. Kani ka pila Dec 28th... should be some very special folks here! Also - Henry Kamae and his pals play locally every Friday night - hope they will be there on the 30th. Dinner & Show = under $20/couple... such a deal! Also important: girls v-ball at beach Tues & Thurs AM, plus more locally. (yah - doubles, yah - rules) My friend who oughta recognize your wife will be here too.
Hope to see you again!
Aloha!

Mahina and Doug and all...
Probably time to see if I can go on airmiles...always procrastinating...
Any advance word on this years personnel?
It's been pretty consistent...
Any chance Daniel Ho might return this year?
And the usual suspects?
Anyway, doing my version of a cost/benefit analysis...which isn't very scientific...more a work of emotion...which makes the probability more probable.
And ya wonder why I struggle with Hawaiian?
