Aloha kakou, I would like to get the lyrics correct for Hanakeoki by Makaha Sons with Brahddah Iz. If I put my "phonetic" version, you guys fluent in na 'olelo Hawai'i gonna laugh, but is something like this. This is purely phonetic: Na kaika o Hanakeoki Ua hane ana koa mea kea kilakila Me ke (kae?) ana (? s/l "o ko'o hele") Iki oia i ka (pau?) ohana me ka (s/l "hahelo") He (uiki hou?) Hanakeoki kona i kaika I ke kai no (ma lani?) alanui. Eia no ??????? O na ????? Keawe.

P.S. If anybody knew Uncle Lono (Herman Lono Navarro) of our canoe club, Na Leo o ke Kai, he just passed away while he was paddling the canoe. I don't know if anybody here is connected to the wa'a clubs.

Never mind. I wrote Makaha Sons. They oughta know, if anybody does, what the words to their own song are. |

Maureen, Are you referring to Queen Lili'uokalani's song? The words in Hawaiian and English are posted here. http://www.huapala.org/ha/Hanakeoki.html
