As Wallace would say:
"I'm just crackers for cheeze Gromit!"
"Cthulhu" and "Ukefluke" indicate Wisconsin in their profiles, so there are three of yooze cheeseheads, so to speak.
Give 'em a holler.
(and I have just been listening to Michael Feldman's "Waddaya Know" Show - from Madison, on my local PBS station)
E komo mai - Welcome aboard...

Welcome, Gary. It might be lonely to be a slack key player in Wisconsin, but you'll be surprised how this website pulls us all together. As an example, we've been reading Fran Guidry's musical journal under the performance/review heading and all enjoying it vicariously. As you'll find, most of us also have to live vicariously through our California guitar-mates because that's as close as many of us get to touring Hawaiian musicians. But we all have fun here. Welcome. Jesse Tinsley |

Well I'm not from the frozen tundra, but I'd like to say, "Welcome!" |

I was born in Frozen Tundra East (Kalamazoo, MI) but my parents had the good sense to follow the Joads, except on the northern version of Route 66, to Cali. All I can say is whew and welcome to a great group. The stuff here will help keep you more warmer. Sandy |

After coming from Norway to South Dakotah, my Grandpa figgered that Washington would suit him better 'cause of the trees. Still, lots of fine folks and music in da Upper Midwest. Remember: Vacation is only as far away as your guitar or ukulele. Jus' press. |

When I hear "frozen tundra" I expect either my backyard or Lambeau Field. My wife is from Milwaukee, we visit occassionally, were just there 3 weeks ago. I tried to find others there prior to my visit, bt found nothing or nobody. You guys have custard out there? You may be in a Hawaiian msic backwater, but stay tuned; several of us are trying to get into virtual jams/realtime movies, etc., that wold bring us all closer together. And, the advise and banter is well worth a few minutes a day to check out. How long have yo been playing slack key, where did yo first hear it, and what songs do yo know? Oh, yeah, welcome:) |
