The Taylor Guitars web site has a very nice review of Led Ka'apana's new Album titled, "KIHO'ALU: hawaiian slack key guitar". (caps as on the cover) http://www.taylorguitars.com/news/onreview/led_kaapana_kihoalu.html If you get Taylor Guitars' "Wood & Steel" quarterly publication, it is in the new Fall 2005 edition (hot off the presses and in the mail). I picked up a spare copy from the local guitar shop.
Any way, there is no link to the Album on Ledward's web site. Searches on Amazon come up zero. The W&S article states it is on the Rhythm & Roots Records label but a google search comes up empty.
To whet your appetite, the review, by John D’Agostino, states quote: For skeptics in search of a prodigious skill set behind slack key’s mellow surface charms — the languorous tempos, dreamy melodies, deceptively simple chord progressions — Ledward’s work on Ki ho’alu (much of it in “taro patch” tuning, or DGDGBD) provides the perfect study material.
Anyone with an in on how to purchase this album - please let us know - inquiring minds.....
