Aloha everyone - passing this along from my inbox...
quote:
Aloha everyone,

Dreadfully late notice, but for those of you on Oahu, John Cruz has a great show lined-up for tomorrow night:

Saturday - Dec. 3rd
Haleiwa Joe's
10pm-Close. $10 tickets. 21+ Only.
Opening Artist: Keoki Manuel (been hearing GREAT things about Keoki)
Haleiwa, North Shore - Oahu - 808-637-8005

It's prime time on the North Shore right now with the Triple Crown of surfing in full swing and hordes of surfers cruising around the 'Seven Mile Miracle' (the most famous stretch of surf breaks in the world). This will definitely be a High Energy affair !

Other news: Just prior to the gig at Haleiwa Joe's, John will be performing along with Jack Johnson at the Campaign for Pupukea-Paumalu Benefit Luau. Unfortunately, there are no additional tickets available for this event (it sold out almost immediately after it was announced - while John was still on his Fall Tour). Adding to the spirit of the night will be a long list of notable co-hosts - including top pro surfers Kelly Slater, Pancho Sullivan, Rochelle Ballard and lifeguard/body surfing legend Mark Cunningham.

Proceeds of the gathering will go to the North Shore Land Trust. This outstanding organization is nearing it's goal of purchasing 1,100 acres of pristine land that overlooks the coastline from Waimea Bay to Sunset Beach. This land would then be placed in public trust for perpetuity thereby preserving the open space of this historic and culturally rich area for all future generations. The land is currently owned by a Japanese development company.

The efforts that have been made to date to protect this area are truly inspirational. If you would like to help the North Shore Land trust achieve success, protect this invaluable area and set a phenomenal precedent in doing so, you may do so by visiting www.northshoreland.org and pledging a donation. Big Mahalo to Jack Johnson, the Kokua Foundation (especially Crystal Young) and the North Shore Land Trust (particularly big kudos to Blake McElheny) for their fantastic contributions in spearheading this effort !!!

Final news: John will be heading to one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean, St. Barth, for the Holidays. John will be joining his old friend, John Caban, for a nearly four week run of gigs at the Baz Bar (Dec. 15th to Jan. 9th). A perfect way to wrap up a fantastic 2005 and kick-off what is shaping up to be an amazing 2006 !

That's it for now. I promise to have John's website updated with LOTS of photos by the end of the year. Big Plans are in the works for John's next album and for extensive 2006 touring. Stay tuned..............................................

A hui hou,
Mark Tarone
