Auwe!
Sorry about the sudden incompletion! I accidently pressed the enter key. "Andy! Sorry! Kala mai"!....Anyway, we just had our recent "Kanikajammapila Session" lastweek Saturday in beautiful Waihee Valley here in Maui, Hawaii that was the 21st. Our next one is just around the corner. It will be on Wednesday October 2, 2002 at 3:00 o'clock to about 6:00 o'clock.
On Saturday September 21st, we all had areally great time. That day was also the day of the C-tuning Slackers. But I managed to at least play and sing "Kamakani Ka'Ili Aloha" in the drop-C. It turned-out pretty nice considering I don't usually play in C.
During the days after, I practiced more with the drop-C tuning. Another nice song to play is "Ku'u Lei Awapuhi". Then just this morning (today the 29th) I figured out how to also play "I'll Remember You". While practicing "Kamakani ka'ili Aloha", and "Ku'u Lei Awapuhi", "I'll Remember You" just sor-ta came to me! So now there's at least three songs I can play with the C-Slackers.
The times on the "Waihee Valley, Maui Kiho'alu get togethers will be planned during the same day. The next Saturday "Kiho'alu Kanikajammapila Session" will be Saturday October 19th. That would be the 3rd Saturday....well, come wednesday, I will find out for sure. So if any of you happen to be on Maui, "E Como Mai!" Come! Come and join us! Of course the week day get together may be hard for some of you. But hey! The Saturday ones will be happening too!
The "Kiho'alu get togethers are no pressure events "right Popoki and Kawika?" It does not matter how well you can play or how you may not know too much, or just beginning to learn.....It's very layed-back. All you need is to bring your "Kika" (guitar) with you, watch and learn! We really have a wonderful time sharing what we know, and jus'press'n. Come and join us! "E Como Mai!" Let us together perpetuate "The Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Style"....
All of you take care! God Bless to you and all the rest at TaroPatch.net. Let us keep alive and well "The Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar. A Hui Hou!....Malama Pono!

Hi Bill,
Boy! We wish we could be with you (5000 miles is to far to walk - or swim). Say Aloha to Kevin and Kitty and David and the whole gang from Sarah and Reid. |

Aloha Kakou, It was a wonderful day in Waihee and I took some nice photos - now I just need to figure out a place to store them online so I can post them here for you all to see. Bill, did you get the one I emailed to you?
I think that Kevin checked his calendar and we all decided the next Saturday session would be a week earlier in Oct on the 12th. Then in Nov it will go back to the 3rd Saturday. Look forward to seeing you then.
A hui hou, >^..^< |

Aloha Popoki!
The photo came out nice! Almost look like the Gabby Pop's Pahinui Waimanalo Back-Yard Jam with Atta, Cyril, Blah, Peter Moon, and Palani Vaughn (spelling)!

Aloha Everyone! And a Great Maui Morning to You!
Today myself, Kevin (Ohana Brown),and everyone else, will hopefully be there to Kanikajammapila" at 3:00 o'clock this Wednesday afternoon. "Kitty! If I remember correctly, I think you said you and Kawika won't be able to make it today". But az aw'right! main 'ting both of you will be able to make the 12th"!
Usually, Kevin with would touch bases to remind everyone about the "Kiho'alu Jam"! The last contact I got from him was just after the last get together in Waihee valley. Just to make sure, I went to read that e-mail again, and yes! It's today! So I'll be leaving Paia's Northshore to meet them in Waihee valley at around 2:00 o'clock this afternoon.
I can't wait to get there. Then we'll be able to Jam "I'll Remember You" in drop-C tuning. Also "Kamakani Ka 'ili Aloha" and Ku'ulei Awapuhi"! But I'm still having a hard time remembering the words! Auwe! Anyway, I do wish all of you a Great Day! Take care! God Bless! Good Health and Prosperity! A Hui Hou!

Aloha e Bill, Hope you all have a wonderful, inspiring kanikapila in Waihee today. We will not be able to join you as it's a work day for Kawika, but do have it on the calendar for the 12th and are looking forward to it. Glad you liked the photos and yes, it did have the feel of the Pahunui Waimanalo Back Yard Jam, only Wahiee Maui style. Thanks for all your positve reports. A hui hou, >^..^<

Wow, all those pictures are great to see! Thanks for posting them, Kitty. Boy, would I like to have been there too. It makes me smile to read all about it, Bill, thanks for posting about the songs and C tunings and stuff -- makes it seem more like I am sorta there (a fly on the wall ). And it's great to see a picture of you Kevin, it's been so long since we've seen you. I'm really happy all you guys started up the jams again!

Aloha My Mainland Ohana!
Yes Sarah, I really wish you, Reid, Andy and Keith could've been there too! It is really wonderful to have all start again, and in a Beautiful and new Location. I do hope all of you are well and in Great Health! I'm very well and good, and looking forward to getting together with all of you again. You know what to do! Just contact Ohana Brown (Kevin) here at TaroPatch.net or me to keep in touch okay!
Our next "Kanikajammapila" is next week Saturday October 12th starting at 10:00 o'clock in the morning. We just got together this past wednesday. Kevin and I were the last two to leave. We just kept playing, talking stories and getting alot of helpful advice in C-tuning from him. I'll Remember You, Kamakani Kai'li Aloha and Ku'u Lei Awapuhi sounds great in C! Some day I would like to share that with all of you too!
Well, I'll making this a short come-back. I have work on some repairs here at home. But not beore I go out on the deck to play some "Kiho'alu". Take care all! Love you guys! A Hui Hou!

Aloha Pop's!
Eh....long time no talk stories! How have you been? BTW! Were you able to get whole of your Ohana here on Maui with the few phone numbers I gave you? I was just wandering if it was a real success. There's nothing like being able to get in touch with Families who are States away!
You are most deffinitely welcome to join us all! When in November will you be planning on a long distance trip to our Valley Isle? And the rest of you too here on TaroPatch.net! Let me know or even Ohana Brown and Popoki here whenever you plan on visit here in Maui, Hawaii. Give us several weeks notice before you fly! That way we can plan on a gathering at the very same area you've seen posted by Popoki! And in case something unexpected comes up such as a job-call or emegency, while you're aleady in route, no worries!
As long as we know when you'll be arriving and where you'll be staying, it'll be like how Keith and I got together, and had a great time! I work five days a week,(Monday-Friday) and my day begins at 7:30 in the morning till 4:00 in the afternoon. Saturdays are mine to enjoy doing all that I love to do, especially "Kiho'alu". I would love to meet and greet you with my "Back-Yard Style Paia Slack Key". So keep in touch okay!
Well! Gotta do some cooking! Today's special is "Bill's Style Chicken Katsu" with my signature BBQ dip. You take care! God Bless to you and all the rest! But above all else....REMEMBER to JUS'PRESS!!!!! A Hui Hou!
