Gray, gloomy, low 50's, in-between rain showers with storms predicted for tomorrow and the next day. Now, do you participants feel even better?
Nice music is coming from the CD, though. |

Aloha Maui!
Thanks for sharing your photos and aloha. It is so nice to see such a large group in such a beautiful setting. We definitely need to get our acts together to see if it will be possible to come out in June. In fact, I just saw George Kahumoku and Nancy Sweeney briefly this weekend up in Boston.
To the Maui `ohana - thank you for your generous and enthusiatic offer to get together! |

Aloha e my Taropatch Ohana!
"Mele Kaliki Maka"! I've been jumping around here so much, that I forgot about this place! As you all know, Kevin (Ohana Brown) Ikaika and the rest are in Tahiti! Ikaika left one week before Kevin, and Kevin just left lastweek Saturday. He did go for a short jam that day at the Church. I couldn't make it that day due to some unexpected business that had come up....
Anyways, just this past Saturday, I went down to Waihe'e. At first I didn't know if anyone was gonna be there. But since I missed the Saturday before, I decided to take a chance. I got there just before 10:00 o'clock, parked my truck and waited to see if anyone would show. Half an hour had passed when I went to get the chairs set-up. The caretaker of the place had beaten me to it, and had already brought out some chairs.
Well, I set down, got my guitar out of the gig-bag, and began to warm-up a little. Just before (or after) 11:00, Ed Bigelo, Helen, Dan, Dave Maize of dave Maize Accoustic Guitars (Dan's Friend from Oregon) had just arrived. Then Ed Kalama came by a little later and jammed several songs with us.
We had a really good "Kanikajammapila Session" that day. We sang a little, Dan and Ed Bigelo recorded me playing "Ku'uipo I Ka He'e Pue One" in Drop-C. My my....Two more days and it'll be "Christmas"! Today Monday, December 23, 2002 (time now is 2:05 in the morning) and I'm on VACATION!!!!!!!!
Joy! Joy! Joy! I want to wish each and everyone of you a "MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A JOYFUL NEW YEAR"!Love you all! A Hui Hou! Malama Pono.....

aloha all,
here's a shot of kevin, bill and me playing last saturday at waihe'e. this was taken shortly before the reverend's daughter's husband came by with a pile of lilliko'i, which bill and kevin had to teach us how to eat (you squish them open, watching out for flying seeds, and then slurp it down, he ono!)
i'm the one trying to figure out where my fingers are supposed to go, bill is in the middle, and kevin is in the right.
aloha, keith

Aloha Keith, Bill, & Kevin!
Darned I missed another great session and a chance to meet Keith and his wife. Still too busy with relatives vacationing here at my place this month.
My last day at work (for retirement!) is January 31st. Wooo about three more weeks bruddah. So from thereon I will have time for the Kanikajamapila!
Thanks Keith for sharing the nice picture. |

Aloha Keith!
How was yours and Suzies trip back home? Did you guys have a comfortable flight? HEY!....Who-dat guy in da middle of you and Kevin playing the Takamine? Ha! ha! ha! I showed my Daughter the photo....She says I looked different with my mustache shaved off....I laughingly agreed! "Suzie! You caught me by surprise! Ha! ha! ha!"
Anyways, I really enjoyed having you guys join us in Waihe'e! Especially meeting the In-Laws! I had a terrific time JUS'PRESS'N with you, Ed Bigelo and "Bruddah" Kevin! I more especially enjoyed how you made "Lahaina Luna" so much sweeter! BTW! No fo-get....dis Saturday... Kevin will be by at around 12:30/1:00 p.m.
Kevin and his Brother Sheldon, has a Gig at Azeka's Market Place in Kihei. So, he'll be by at or around 12:30/1:00 in the afternoon. I'll be there my usual time.....about 10:00 a.m. I'll be expecting you!
"Suzie! Much mahalo for the homemade cookies! Don't forget to bring more on Saturday okay!" "Mom! Thank you also so much for your homemade "Banana Choco-chip Cookies!" Well, I got some things I need to take care of this evening, so gots'ta run!
Take care, God Bless, Good Health and Prosperity! But above all else....All you have a really awesome and terrific "NEW YEAR 2003"! Love You Guys! Miss you guys too! A Hui Hou!

Ed!
Where were you man? Nah nah nah....Got to take care the visiting Ohana, and entertain them! But yes! You most certainly missed a great "Kanikajammapila" Waihe'e style. You would also be amazed at how Keith just so easily figures chords and stuff. Anyways, this coming Saturday again! But as I had already mentioned to Keith....Kevin and his Brother Sheldon has a Gig at the "Azeka's Market Place" in South Kihei. He'll be by at or around 12:30/1:00 in the afternoon.
Ed! Please give your visiting Ohana my Aloha "K"! BTW! What's for dinner? Ha! ha! Jus kidding....jus kidding! Take care, God Bless to You and all the rest. Good Health and Prosperity! But most importantly, no fo-get...JUS'PRESS...."HAPPY NEW YEAR 2003"! A Hui Hou!

Nah... That's not Bill. That is just some other guy who smiles a lot. Bill looks entirely different and usually wears a do-rag, not a cap. Bill never wears shorts (always jeans) and never wears sneakers. He also was playing a litle Martin. Must be some some guy who stole his Takamine. Even Kevin is giving him a look (behind his shades) in the pic. Kevin should have Ka`ena put out an APB for a missing person named Bill Pellazar on the police radio broadcast. Tell us when you find the real Bill.
