Aloha TaroPatch Ohana! Well, today was yet another day of "Kiho'alu Stylings in beautiful Waihe'e Valley! But it began without the presence of Sarah and Reid. They're in Heavenly Hana, Maui spending this weekend there. I can just picture Sarah and Reid having their own little "kanikajammapila" there. Maybe even jamming with the "Duke" who lives there!
We also kept and eye out for Julie and Her Husband. When Ed Kalama dropped by, he said he saw a couple in a rent-a-car that appeared to have been lost looking for something. He thought that it might have been them making the left turn up to St. Ann's Catholic Church. So he went with his truck to see if it was. He then came back to where we were, and told us that it wasn't them.
Myself, Dan Sythe, Ed Bigelow and Helen, Ed K and "Bruddah" Kevin were the only ones there. But as always, we had a great time. Then Ed K had to leave, followed by Dan later. Ed Bigelow, Helen, myself and Kevin stayed till around 4:15. we'd probably stay longer, but Kevin had a Gig at 5:00. But still for the time that we did stay and JUS'PRESS it was a great time!
So for those that may be making the stop at Waihe'e Valley nextweek if time permits and also the workshop, just remember.....(When and if you do make it to Waihe'e, the 1st Church that you'll see on the left is St. Ann's Catholic Church...you just keep driving pass it slowly, and look for a "Historic-Kamehameha Sign" that will be coming up on the left....It's at that sign that you make the left-turn to the 150 Year old Waihe'e Christian Protestant Church where you will find us).
Hope to see you guys there! Take care! God Bless! Good Health and Prosperity to you all! A Hui Hou! Malama Pono....

Aloha e Bill, Yes, the Slack Key tunes were flowing in Hana this weekend and what beautiful weather with the full moon rising over Hana Bay! Unfortunatelly Duke was busy with houseguests and did not have time to join the Kanikapila, but we did get a couple of nice visits in with him at the office. He plans to make it over for the Ki Ho 'Alu Festival next Sunday, so keep an eye out for him then. In fact we are all looking forward to seeing lots of Ki Ho 'Alu friends next weekend A hui hou, >^..^< |

Good Morning Popoki!
Az right! I forgot both you and Kawika wen go az well....Hey! Main 'ting you guys wen get fo meet and wala'au with "Bruddah" Duke! Hey! BTW! When was Andy guys going to be here? Was it this past Tuesday or this coming Tuesday? I may have misuderstood, or, nevah read what Andy mentioned on a posting here on T/P good....Az why Hahd! Must be old age li'dat. I shouldn't have turned a year older this past Friday.....
BTW TaroPatch Ohana! I forgo to mention, I did the open-mike with "Bruddah" Don, Pani and "Bruddah" Boy Kanae Friday evening at "Blue Marlins". My first number was "Hula O Makee", followed by "Kamakani Kaili Aloha". But the highlight of the open-mike moment was when I decided to do "Ku'u Ipo I Ka He'e Pu'e One".
Well....it started off great! But after "Bruddah" Don Kaulia completed the pa'ani (picking solo) I went into one of the verses of "Kamakani Kaili Aloha" instead...And I threw myself off along with everybody else....Then I remembered....It's open-mike! So It was okay to make mistakes! "Bruddah" Don, "Bruddah Boy" and "Bruddah" Pani was very okay with it, and made me feel better when they joked about it. "PLenty Mahalos "Bruddah" Don! Boy and Pani!
But hey you guys and gals! Starting next Tuesday at The "Blue Marlin Restaurant and Grill" until the "Kiho'alu Festival" "Bruddah" Don and the gang will be having Open-Mike Night for all who want to share their Talents! So come one! Come All! I'll be there! Let's bring down the House to show that hey! "Backyard Kiho'alu Slackers can be pretty good! Let's have fun!
Auwe Popoki! Look.....I almost wen fo-get about you! Anyways, as I mentioned on a previous posting, we were watching for Julie and her Husband this past Saturday (yesterday). Ed Kalama thought it might have been them. On his way to where we were, he said he saw what appeared to be a couple in a rent-a-car that seemed to be lost or looking for something. He went track them down to where he saw them make the left turn up to St. Ann's Catholic Church. But it wasn't....
Well, the good news is that, I just now called the Mauian, and Leilani there told me that they're already check-in! Yaayyyyyyy! The bad news is, that they don't have phones in their roomsBut! Can leave message! A Hui Hou!

Aloha Bill--
I didn't hear Sarah this trip, but I heard her a few years ago playing her own arrangement of a Queen Liliuokalani composition that was chicken-skin-nahenahe-broke-da-ear-kine-onolicious kihoalu. Luckily we can hear it on the camp CD that was made. Look forward to meeting you too.
