Sarah and I met Uncle Claude on Maui a few years ago and Sarah recorded a slack key kid's song for his grandkids. A while later, he sent Sarah a lovely koa hand mirror with a picture of a toad inlaid on the back, in remembrance of her singing (and playing) the "Toad Song". There is a similar mirror (the one with the assymetric handle) on one of his web pages. Lovely work, great guy (and a heckuva engineer, too).
Claude has also made stand-up bases for John Koko of Makaha Sons. I think Claude told me that he had made them 4 or 6 for John and John really likes his work.
