Regarding the South Bay and SF Peninsula concerts:
March 24th Montalvo concert - I just spoke with the box office and they have only 1 ticket left.
April 7th Big Fox Theatre concert - Even though the "Masters of the Slack Key Guitar" is not yet listed on the foxdream website, the box office just confirmed that they will open for the Makaha Sons at 8 PM that evening. Call the box office for ticket prices until the website is updated.

Here's the latest about the Lodi Concert:
$20----Concert only
Also the time is sooner:
4:00 p.m.
That gives you lots of time to make it back home if you are coming from the Bay Area or up in Sacramento! We are an up and coming wine area in Lodi, with Zinfandel being our specialty. Come up early , go to our Wine Center or do some tastings at some of our wineries, take in the concert and still make it back at a decent time for a Sunday night.
It will be a great day!

Randy, You should invite George to play some of his "Hymns of Hawaii" for your Sunday service(s). At least Kanaka Waiwai (based on Matthew 19:16-24). Your congregation would be in for a real special treat. Aloha Ke Akua. |

I'll ask my priest; I'm gone that Sunday, so....Hm? I suppose it depends on how late a night George might have Saturday (and where he is coming from).

Yep -
We are going to Villa Montalvo tonight to see George and Cyril and Dennis at the Carriage House theater. Looking forward to a great time!
This Montalvo concert has been SOLD OUT for a while, but there is another chance to see them (locally) at the FOX THEATRE in Redwood City in a couple of weeks (leading for the Makaha Sons). I understand that there are still some tickets available (it is a pretty big venue).

I might be confused about some things here, but I do know that George Kahumoku Jr. and Cyril Pahinui are also playing at the Attic in Santa Cruz on March 28. I'm supposed to decorate the stage, and though I don't see too much info about that particular gig, I believe it is truly happening...
If there is anyone out there, Cathe? PearlCityBoy? JSulle? who wants to come to that concert, you can come and stay the night at the house next door to ours in Boulder Creek, which we use as a guest house. (Boulder Creek is a 15 minute drive from Santa Cruz.)
My friends are welcome. Please contact me through this site and I'll try to accomodate you. Not much fun seeing a good concert and then driving home for hours in the middle of the night.
Plenny Aloha, Julie |

The show at Villa Montalvo was excellent. Lot of talk story, lot of great music. Very inspirational and very moving performances. |

Aloha e Rob and Julie,
Did not see you at the show Rob... Perhaps we should have held up "TaroPatch" cards like they do at airports! (or worn our buttons)
Julie, it was a very good show, all the guys were good but Dennis blew me away. During his set, he sung all new material and it was all very very good.
The three guys also played together for more than a couple of songs (for a change) and finished Hana-hou with Dennis' "Steal Away", where George ripped-out on a first class pa'ani.
