Aloha kakou, we lucky folks here in the Santa Cruz area have an ukulele club that is just a kick! At our monthly meetings, we have anywhere from 40 to 60 members, most bringing one or several instruments. We change meeting sites around. Last month it was at my house for a Sunday Barbecue. Phew, what a crowd! We usually have some form of entertainment, a couple of sing along songs, a technical session (i.e. a comparison of the different Martins), food, drink and lots of fun. Next meeting is October 17 at the Ideal Bar and Grille at the foot of the Santa Cruz Wharf. If you're interested or happen to be coming through town, let me know. Another uke nut, Julie

Oh sure...you wait until _after_ I move
away to start these gatherings! Well,
at least I was able to attend one fun
function at your palatial estate before
we packed up for Kaua`i! :-)

When are you heading this way????

Aloha Maria!!!!! Wave, wave. Sorry you now live sooooo far away on Kauai! Sniff. Yes, it's true, things are livening up here in Santa Cruz, but it will still not be as cool as on the Islands. All of a sudden people are turning up in droves, bringing their instruments. Thanks to you and your calendar on mele.com we stay informed about all the great music that's coming our way. We sure miss you! Love and hugs, Julie
