Hello all,
I apologize if this has been covered earlier - I did a quick visual search of topics and didn't come up with it.
Is there an easy comparison of 'uke sizes and tuning? For example, what are the differences between a concert and a soprano 'uke, a tenor 'uke and a baritone, etc.? A point in the right direction would be very helpful.
Thanks, John B

Here's a page with a concise table of sizes and tunings: http://www.ukuleles.com/Technology/sounds.html
This site actually has a lot of information about ukuleles and their construction but it seems you have to look at the sitemap to find it all. |

Thanks, Gary and Andy!
Someday, a tenor or baritone sounds cool...
Gary, did you build 'uke from scratch or from a kit? |

John, I built my uke from scratch. It's among the easier instruments to build although you end up spending a lot on tools. Here are some details: http://www.rahul.net/gaa/Uke/ |

Hi Gary,
Even though I am not a builder, I found your site very interesting. Thanks for posting the link. Your work is impressive and you should be proud.
Since my wood working skills are so poor, I really admire those who can create beautiful instruments from raw materials. It's truly a gift. |
