such a brilliant artist and sad story you would think the govenor of hawaii could vouch for early release or pardon. there has to be alot worse people who could occupy this spot in the slammer.

Aloha All, It is true that Moses is in a federal pen in Arizona. technically the charge was based upon using stolen Visa numbers for advances. Unfortunately, the money was not going to the widows and orphans fund. The good side of things is that Moses was really shaken by the whole thing and seems to have done some serious soul searching and "reform."
HOWEVER, you can still get in contact with Moses. (He's not playing much, but occasionally writes a piece of slack key.)

I doubt that any state governor has the juice to spring a Federal prisoner.

Aloha
What started the thread about Moses? I wrote to him when he was in Aiea, but 2 letters after that came back undeliverable. He gave me some of his tab, and his song "Pohakuloa" is still my favorite. I've hiked that hot, rocky place (pohaku loa = rocky very) he said inspired his song. I heard that to write to him, you have to give your SSN, risky with today's identity theft wave. I really hope he gets out unscathed and returns to slack key.
