I'm sorry that Cyril won't be involved in this one, but it will be well worth it to learn from Dennis again. I think the addition of Bobo Miles and classes about language and culture is great. Jesse Tinsley |

Jesse, Ask Bobo to sing for you. Although he is little known outside of Hawaii he has one of the absolutely best voices in Hawaii and you can learn a lot from him. He is a natural singer, graduated from UH Music with a BA in voice, worked in Hawaii and Japan for a number of years. And for the last several years has been working with Kahauanu Lake, originally under the State Foundation of Culture and Arts Masters Apprentice Program. His falsetto is the best! He is definately one of the best vocal talents around. Peter Medeiros |

Karl, I'm hoping to go. It's the closest thing to a trip to the islands for me. I certainly want to jam some songs with you if I can make it. I'll keep you posted. Jesse |

I'm going to try to make it on Sunday. I have a gig Saturday night, and 50th State Club is having their spring ho'olauleia in Puyallup on Saturday. Too many things jam into one weekend, while grerat part of the year are empty. How come li' dat? |

Aloha Karl,
Hope to see you there and too and finally meet you. I'm trying to get Jesse to come as well and get in some badly-needed jam time!

Unfortunately, Kory, it's two days of classes, so you don't really have the option of just coming on Sunday; sorry. |

9 am - 5 pm. I'm hoping to "steal" David Kamakahi away after his last class ends at 2:30, and taking him over to the SUPA `ukulele gathering that afternoon. Drop a note to TP's hwnslacker (Patrick Landeza), and let him know what's up with you; see what arrangements you can make. |

Thanks for the info, Gregg. Too much stuff coming at once! And NWFolklife is only 2 months away! I'm going to need another calendar. |
