Aloha kakou,
I've been away from da taro patch for awhile. And away from playing guitar too. Sometimes life jus gets a little complicated.
Last summer I had a couple of events combine to create a bit of a 'perfect storm' on my psyche. I started wondering if I was ever going to get back to Hawai`i, ever going to surf again, ever going to see some old friends. Not quite depression, but way more than homesickness.
Getting back to Zen, I decided to just let Hawai`i go. Or at least my mental attachment to it. In time I came to discover that Hawai`i is just a part of me and whether I ever set foot on da kine aina again that will always be the case. I think I can live with that.
So, I'm going to start playing the guitar again. I'm going to start reading and posting again. To everyone who wrote, or just wondered, if I was okay: thank you for thinking of me.

| Welcome back! I know just how you feel. Don't detach from Hawaii - try playing guitar to get back to how calm you felt sitting on the beach there. Just like Bonsai! |

So good to hear from you again - Lori keeps asking me if you've been back in touch on TP.
Maybe you can pop in to Kona Kitchen this coming Saturday night, and absorb a little Hawai`i with Uncle Dennis and all the folks throwing him a birthday party.

Aloha Bruddah!
I learned after living on the mainland for way too long that Hawaii is in the heart and you can never loose it you just have to learn to feel it. And we can all see it and feel it when it comes out.
Jus keep on playing............
