What's the music scene look like on Maui for the month of June? Have some ohana that's going to be on the island and they're interested in taking in some live music. I already informed them of the Ritz-Carlton shows on Wednesday evenings in addition to the kanikapila in Waihe`e...

E aloha Art,
Of course, there is the Maui Slack Key Festival on the 25th of June, FREE, in Wailuku. George Kahumoku Jr. usually gets his whole workshop on stage! All 50 plus musicians! Let me tell you, it's a treat, not only to perform but to sit through the whole show front and center, joined by your best friends from all over the States. Then we ususally end up eating dinner after. Tell your ohana to come look for us in our camp T-shirts at the Festival.
(I just love your bass playing, you're so good!) Julie |

Aloha Julie! I had forgotten that the workshop was taking place at that time so I'll make it a point to mention it to them. I'm sure it's something they'd really enjoy. As for my bass playing, I appreciate the compliment but I'm only as good as the musicians that I'm backing. Mahalo nui... |
