I saw Danny Carvalho perform with his teacher, Ozzie Kotani, at the 2001 Slack Key Festival on O`ahu. He must have been around 10 years old.
Now 15, Danny has released his first CD titled Slack Key Journey - On My Way. The album features 14 slack key instrumentals (2 original compositions). His playing is sweet. Influences of Ledward Kaapana, Sonny Chillingworth, Atta Isaacs and his teacher Ozzie Kotani. Always cool to see young players that will be defining the future of kiho`alu.
