aloha all!! I was wondering if anyone knew of a cd, cassette (or even 8-track haha) version of all or some of the songs in the he mele aloha songbook. does such a thing exist? I love the book, but am not familiar with most of the melodies of the songs. holla back!!

Aloha mattwong, keep an eye out for kani kapilas in the Bay Area. Lots of activity here. Most of the time attendees bring some music or such, and you can learn new songs as you go. Also, Auntie Maria at mele.com had a book for sale titled Island Music Source Book. It has a listing of thousands of songs, who recorded it on which album, and so on. From there you can search for the CD, buy or borrow and listen to the songs.
As you are in San Francisco, you are not too far away from a lot of action! Julie |
