Aloha all Today is a bright spot in weird year. Last year while we were in Hawaii on our yearly pilgramage of renewal ( can only last so long over here on the east coast SOme people get Island fever we get the opposite ) our water heater burst and flooded our house. when my son discovered it my beloved Martin guitar and Baratone Uke were floating and the cases were SOAKED. Not shure how long they had been that way. I thought they were lost for sure and could hardly bring my self to look at them on my return. But they worth was FAR beyond the playability. as they have been with me since 1960 and when Andre Segovia was in my home in 1965 he played MY guitar and then signed it. So I loving Packed them both up and took them to an authorized repair man. Not hoping for much but a display piece in reeturn. Well that was April 1 and I picked them both up this Afternoon and He worked A miracle. The Uke is as if NEW no damage shows or souds at all she can still SING. The Guitar well she has been HURT. Her finish will never recover but he put her back together and other than the finish there is no visiable damage not only can I play her again but she sounds as good as ever a little different maybe but we all change as we age don't we. Well that was a long intro. I stumbled onto this web site looking for info on Uke and have now spent several hours enjoying reading many different forums. Konabob is a familar name from another web site I use often. You see we dream of retiring to North Kona some time in the next 10 years so I love www.konaweb.com Well I guess I had better start playing Ouch my fingers are so tender Aloha Nani
