Aloha Everyone,
I am part of a 3 piece Hawaiian group looking for a Bassist living in the San Diego area that plays Hawaiian music. We have played with a few very talented bassist that are familiar with more contemporary styles of music such as rock and jazz, but they are lacking that feeling and attitude for Hawaiian music. To them it is just another gig. We need someone that loves Hawaiian music and that can feel the spirit of the music. Ability to sing is a big plus. If you are interested, please send me an email. At the very least, we can have good fun jamming and making a new "Hawaiian Music" friend. Clint H.

Aloha Clint - If you don't find someone through this website, come to the Ukulele Festival in Cerritos October 7th. Ukulelefestival.org There will be a number of instruments and artists there, some living closer than others to San Diego. And I know there will be bassists. There is entertainment all day, and I would guess if you ask around you'll find for whom you are looking. And I do believe everyone there pretty much loves Hawaiian music and all sort of other Hawaiian stuff like shave ice. nancy |

Clint, A couple of guys play bass (including Uncle Bobby Ohumukuni) at the weekly Kanikapizza in Encinitas. You might talk to them as well. Malama pono, Mike |
