I was hoping to perform at the uke fest but now that you pros are coming in...
Let me know what day(s) the Hawai`i crew will be performing and I'll try to make it in for those. Like most festivals, I'm sure there will be a wide variety of music. Not to mention that it's tough for me to make it in for everyday of the multi-day event.
We have a car and can help you out with transportation or guiding you around. Of course, Daniel knows his way around. Look forward to seeing you. |

Konabob, This is great news! I'll definately seek you out at the New York festival. I've wanted to see what I might be able to do with one of your basses for a while. In fact, today, as I was reflecting on our last night's kanikapila where two of our hui showed up with new instruments (an electric from RISA and a Tahitian banjo made on Kauai) I thought that I need to treat myself to something new. I'm a `ukulele player exclusively and hope you can help me make the transition to your instrument. I'm also a New Yorker and would be happy to help you navigate the City. ANDY, I hope you guys decide to play at this event, hearing you play is always a treat. Tommy Cheng |

Hi Tommy! My wife and I are really excited about the NY Uke Fest! We are not going to try to do a booth this year, but we might bring a couple of extra basses. I can usually teach someone how to play the 3 string bass in less than 20 minutes. People that already play the 4 string bass usually take a lot longer. They have to unlearn everything the left hand is used to doing. A bass is a great thing to have in a uke group. It really rounds out the sound - our local group loves having me show up. They claim that I make them sound better.
Andy, I do hope you will bring your guitar. I will have a lap steel and Shirley is bringing her fiddle. We would love to kani! I will email you my cell phone number so we can hook up in the city. Aloha, -Konabob |

Thanks Tommy! I think the slots are all filled up.
You should be playing. You sounded great at the HCF party. |
