Aloha Kakou! I guess this would be the place to boast that my CD "Sweet And Sacred: A Fragrant Offering", was one of 8 nominees in the "Hawaiian Album" category in the "Just Plain Folks 2006 Music Awards". "Just Plain Folks" (www.justplainfolks.org) is a free on-line musicians network with over 40,000 members worldwide, including many well-known performers and inside industry professionals. Sponsors include CDBaby, Disc Makers, TAXI, and others. JPF members entered 25,500 albums, which were grouped into 81 categories. Judges hailed from around the world, and the primary judging criteria they were given was "does it move you?" I guess I moved 'em! Ray Sowders was also nominated. Most of the other nominees are Hawaiians, so I'm pretty stunned to be on the list! Final judging is in Santa Ana, CA on 11/4/06 - good luck (lokomaika'i?)to everyone!
