I've got a chance to pick up a Takamine EG140SHC for a couple of hundred bucks. I've played it; playes ok, but it's got old strings that I can't keep in tune. The guitar is in nice shape; grand concert size with cutaway and Takamine electrics. I think it's a relatively inexpensive rig and a few years old, but it seems like real wood; solid top - rosewood and spruce (maybe). Anybody know anything about this guitar? My research has not yielded anything decent info and I can't decipher the Takamine numbering system. If it's not junk, I'd sacrifice a set of strings just to hear what it sounds like.
I think that's one of their low-line mini jumbos and they don't sell for much, usually under $200 used. Ebay has a similar one up right now: item number 250037666523. It could be a good player and beach guitar if the price is right. Jesse
