With all the changes in how music is acquired and listened to, well, I get a little blue. Or at least melancholy. Baby.
I remember the groove, between the album (vinyl). and while that can't be final, it evolved. There was a time, where there was more than rhyme; there was artwork 12 3/8" x 12 3/8" and if there be a fold, Then there was a groove, between the covers... Betwixt and between...where the art doubled.
AND In the middle, a groove. Where anticipation flowed, like Pele. Cleaning the earth and wood--the Good-- from the Bad and Ugly.
And the songs that played, Well, they played in order. It seems that the keys and tempo changed Biblically from song to song. As if Schemed form a higher source... Perhaps Biblically, Or at least by Magical, mystical minds... But only Minds of Musicians, not Minolta.
Right or Wrong, it had order. The flow, the concept, and the unity... All of that was part of it.
But alas, we buy it by the song.
Is that wrong? Er No, not really. But a little bit of art is lost: And with it a little bit of light, and a little bit of soul.
Burma Shave and Seeking a Haircut... (Your two bits here...)...
