I don't remember if I shared this with you folks before........
At our hula workshop this past February, there was very good hula at the ho`ike. One fella from New Mexico danced while Ale`a was playing for him. When the fella from Ale`a introduced the dancer, he asked his name. The dancer said his name was Dennis Pavao (it really is). The guy from Ale`a was taken aback for only a minute...and then he said his name is Gabby Pahinui. Ha-ha.
