Got email from a guy named Dave Ish who used to promote Hawaiian stuff in San Diego; got out of the business about the time that Don Narup and I started doing it; appears to be back in business. He was escorting Amy G and Chino Montero (willie K's guitarist) around last week (Sat show at Humphrey's) and he's getting shows for the La Jolla Brewhouse, mainly blues, but has Makana coming on June 23. Billed as "Slack Rock" - Slack Key guitar with "world" rock sound. I'll probably check this out, hoping for the best. Just so you'd all know.

FYI -- Makana is moving to the mainland. His "A Hui Hou" concert will be at the rRed Elephant in Honolulu on June 6; his final performance in the islands will be at Chai's Bistro on June 8.
