In the first video, he just said that it was "hard to get" and that they were now "comfortable" to offer it again. I can interpret that as meaning that they were previously unable to find a lumber vendor who could provide them with a consistent supply of the grade they wanted at the price that they wanted.
Andy, when I ordered my all koa 5-string bass (headstock, neck and body - see my profile picture) from Carvin a couple of years ago it took almost 5 months for them to make it primarily because they were waiting for the wood...
