I tried the search engine but didn't have any luck, so pardon if this has been beaten to death. I just picked up an acoustic O'ahu lap steel. I'm planning on sticking to taropatch tuning. Are there any special types of strings to use to faciliate playing with a bar?

Hey Pops, where did you get it? Paul needs a pickup for one (I guess that means it is not acoustic, eh?) Did you get it here locally? Maybe Gitter Picker in Twinsburg? |

Wanda,
I got the guitar at Skyline Music's (Westlake) annual garage sale. Pardon the pun, it was a steal for $35. It plays well and it's in good condition. If Paul's looking for pickup, Timeless Guitars in Parma normally has a pretty fair selection of electric lap steels and the owner does all the repairs. It's worth a call to see if he has something. Are you guys going to Clifftop next week? |

Hey Pops -- thanks. We will check it out. PARMA! I have never heard of Clifftop, but Paul certainly has. He said it is the cream of the crop of old time players. No vacation time left because we are taking a week at the end of September to go to Washington, DC to see Makaha Sons and then Paul takes deer hunting season. We also took those two weeks to go to Hawai`i in May. |
