In this new month of August, I have loaded some new CDs in the car to listen on my way to and from work. One of this month's selections is Nahenahe: Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar by George Kuo.

This is such beautiful, peaceful music. George's playing is so rythmmic with the bass and sparkling with the melody. It is all instrumental and you can just immerse yourself in the richness of the sound. Crank up the volume and let it engulf you. I hear a bit of Doc Watson and Ray Kane in his music. I'm also thinking that Patrick Landeza must have picked up a few licks from George as well. George's rendition of Radio Hula is a much slower version than any of Led's pickin', but the tempo adds to the sweetness of the rendition so aptly displayed by George.
