Just a reminder.
The Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association's annual convention at the Holiday Inn Convention Center (very plush) in Joliet, Illinois (near Chicago) is coming up soon - October 11-13, 2007.
Three days of the worlds finest Hawaiian Steel (non-pedal) Guitarists. Uke players are especially welcome and needed.
This year's guest of honor is the noted Waikiki based Hawaiian Steel Guitarist-Ukuleleist and vocalist Isaac Akuna.
Click here for more info http://www.hsga.org/new_design/Joliet2007InfoPage.htm
We have two free instructional workshops scheduled for Thursday and Friday evenings. Chris Kennison is conducting a beginning workshop in the C6 tuning on Thursday night. Kay Das is doing a beginning/intermediate C6 one on Friday night. Both of these workshops are free! Bring a video camera or some type of recording device so you'll have something to work on after the weekend.
We have some monster players lined up for stage perfomances... Guest of Honor Isaac Akuna, Dave Giegerich (The Hula Monster), Ian Ufton, Chris Kennison, Terry Miller, Mae(Eharp)Lang, Mike Scott, Duke Ching, Ivan (Western Swing) Reddington, Doug Smith, Dave Kolars, Bernice Honold. And many more!
Come on folks!

Hmmmm...not too long of a drive from Cleveland...straight across I-90 (and I do mean straight, flat, no curves in the road)... no field trips to the prison? Is Bobby Ingano going to be there? Are the two tutu twins going to be there? |
