I just finished watching the movie Surfs up with my grandson and was really suprised at the end of the movie to hear Jeff Bridges Singing and playing a Ukulele. The song was really cute and in it he talks about how it is not a Uke a Lay lee but an OOku lele (my version of phonetics) we got a real kick out of it. Too bad it was not on the sound track that came with the movie.
Jeff's knowledge of the `ukulele isn't really surprising. His family -- starting back with his mom and dad (Lloyd) -- have been part-time residents of Kaua`i (Kilauea) for decades.
