Aloha To all the Hawaiian music lovers!! I'm a new guy here. Just discovered this place this evening. My connection to Hawaiian music is thru the HSGA and the Aloha Steel Guitar Club. My connection to Hawaii is that I build, modify, and restore steel guitars. Some for Bobby Ingano and Derrick Mau. I also have a son at the U of Hawaii. Regards to all

Aloha, Bill. Welcome to Taro Patch. Hah - folks are getting closer to where Paul and I are -- we are in Cleveland. Saginaw is not all that far..
Bobby Ingano is one nice gentleman, yeah? And what a steel guitar player.
You got any good Hawaiian steel guitar stuff going on there in Michigan you could let us know about?

Yes - welcome to the patch. I was always curious about Saginaw ever since that old Simon and Garfunkel song "America" came out. I.E. "It took me four days to hitchhike from Saginaw".
Another one of those "songs of place" (a common tradition in Hawaiian Music too), that can make a reasonable person curious!

Aloha Uncle Bill, pehea 'oe?
Nice to meet you online! I hope to meet you in person sometime. We should kanikapila, maybe! I love Hawaiian music as well. What are some of your favorite songs? I have a lot of favorite songs and artists. All the talent coming from Hawai'i is amazing.
I've just started learning how to sing ha'i. I'm all right, I guess. Some of my favorite ha'i songs are "'Alika" and "Kalama'ula."
Anyways, malama pono, and write soon!

Were you at the Waikiki convention in April? If so, we probably saw each other. |

I didn't make it to Hawaii this year. I have been going every year in April/May to Waikiki, but too much going on at home last spring. We will likely be there in the last part of April '08 though.
Much Aloha to all |
