Please take the time this weekend to thank a veteran for his or her service to our country. Please remember the folks who came back from Viet Nam to the scorn of a nation and who were never properly welcomed home. These men went into harms way primarily as draftees. It was not their choice to go, but they did so with honor, dignity and valor.

Veterans Day is not about a two-day sale at the department store; it is not about having a day off from school. It is about showing our honor and gratitude for the selfless tasks these fine people performed on our behalf.

To the Veterans of our nation, I salute you. God bless you and thank you.

And welcome home.

Me ke aloha
Malama pono,
Wanda

Amen Wanda. I tink we gotta honor our veterans as well. Here in Yolo County, we goin have a veterans day memorial on 11/11 at 11 am. Since I am in the Woodland community band, I get to be a part of dat. We're taking special time to honor da women veterans too.

To all da Veterans in da patch, mahalos fo your service to our country. May God bless you.

If can, can. If no can, no can.

John - thank you, my brother. Those folks sharing aloha with you did something monumentous. You are still feeling the aloha after 37 years and dare I say, they have caused you to continue sharing your aloha with others.

This is a beautiful story and I feel privileged that you shared it with us.

God bless you.
