Wanda, don't you have caller ID? We never pick up the phone if we don't know who is calling. |

Nope, we do not have caller ID. We just recently invested in an answering machine but are too dumb to know how to program it the right way to have the right date and time. We only recently stopped having to climb the telephone pole like on Green Acres. If it weren't for having a computer and having to always push one for this and push 2 for that, we would still have the old dial telephone. It never broke after all those years, so why get rid of it??? And I do not use call waiting, either. I find it terribly rude to diss whomever you are talking with in order to answer a call from someone else. If the phone rings busy, then they know to call you back. I believe in technology for some stuff and the old ways for other stuff. I do not need electronics just to keep up with the times. Same thing for cell phone. It has not been all that long that Paul and I have had cell phones. I have used mine only a handful of times.
I just got another call from Dennis Kucinich. He said in his recording that if we wanted a Dennis sign, it would be hand delivered to our door. Yikes. |

Dennis Kucinich isn't even our congressman. He's wasting his time calling a wrong number. Also, rendesvous 1840 isn't just a name, it's a way of thinking. I'm driving the ox cart that's blocking traffic on the Information Highway. Paul |

You two lovebirds remind me of a modern version of Ma and Pa Kettle. |

Ma & Pa Kettle -- yep, that's us. I'll never raise chickens, though. They eat their own you know what.
For a great, quick read, get the book that started the movies of Ma & Pa Kettle. I think it is "The Egg" or something similar. At least its something about an Egg. Way funny! |

"The Egg and I". It is very funny! Hey, Wanda - thanks for the support. I'm back at work as of Wednesday. |

The memoirs of Betty MacDonald, describing her days on a chicken farm on Washington State's Olympic Peninsula, near Chimacum, not far from all us Seattle folks. The road leading west from Beaver Valley Road (route 19) to MacDonald's farm location is Egg and I Road. |
