I loved the Aunty Genoa tribute!
Bill and Jesse, please tell us all about recording "Ho'ohihi." Did you get to meet each other in person and record it at the same time? Where were you guys when you did it? |

Hi Alika and sistah Wanda, Our friend, hwnmusiclives, downloaded my Youtube version of "Ho'ohaehae", and added the steel guitar and background vocals and then sent it to me. He made it so seamless and professional that I was blown away. I inserted it back into the original video and put it up for others to hear. Bill could sit in any seat in a Hawaiian music ensemble. He let me hear a performance of Bill, Hale Akaka and Keao Costa and it was incredible, like they'd been playing together for years (well, close anyway). It was my honor to get this gift from him. He offered to collaborate more, but now I feel a little intimidated. I hope to work with him again.

Eh Jesse, between watching both you and Kamaka Fernandez do such fabulous jobs in singing "Ho'ohaehae" within just the past few days on Youtube, it's really taken a toll on my sleep. I went to bed last night with that song playing in my head and it was still in repeat mode when I woke up this morning. Not good. |

Hey Guava, Kamaka's version is too good, but I got the secret weapon, a steel player from New Jersey!

Don't feel intimidated! I had always thought that you both would sound great together, and you do! |
