Aloha Slack Key Guitar Students & Musicians,
Here is a special opportunity to share Hawaiian Culture, Food, and Music in a pristine setting just steps away from Maui's beautiful white sand beach of Napili Bay.
Guitar instructors include Dancing Cat Slack Key Masters George Kahumoku Jr, Ozzie Kotani, Cyril Pahinui, and Dennis Kamakahi. Other Slack Key Guitarists & Composers, Carlos Andrade, Kevin Brown, and Danny Palakiko will round out this high-powered Slack Key staff.
George Kahumoku Jr is currently accepting registration for his Sixth Annual Maui Slack Key Guitar & Hawaiian Culture Workshop 2003.
It will take place in Napili, Maui, Hawaii from June 16-22 for the extended 7-Day Culture & Guitar Program or from June 19-22 for his traditional 4-Day Guitar Program.
Guitar players will be limited to 44 to keep the classes at 11 students each.
The cost is $725 for the expanded program and $475 for the short program.
Lower spouse rates of $370 and $120 are available for the 7-day Culture program and the 4-day guitar program depending on level of participation.
This year we are offering Culture classes in Hula, Chanting, & Weaving, a day trip to northern Maui; Ukulele & beginning/refresher Guitar instruction are offered for both spouse/companions & guitar players.
Of course evening Kahumoku Dinners (famously delicious!) and nightly Jam Sessions (backyard family style!) will top off each day.
