`Ukulele virtuoso, HERB OHTA JR. will be performing at HAPPA RESTAURANT in Gardena.
He is a six-time Na Hoku Hanohano Award Nominee and a two-time Hawai‘i Music Award Winner. Herb has released 2 national releases in Japan and co-authored 2 ‘ukulele instructional books with Grammy Award artist Daniel Ho that was released in Japan and the United States. He has 12 recordings out in circulation. Herb has shared the stage with many of Hawai`i's legendary artists; Ledward Kaapana, The Makaha Sons, Dennis Kamakahi, The Lim Family, Kapena, Cyril Pahinui, George Kahumoku, Ohta-San, Ka‘au Crater Boys, The Brothers Cazimero, and Daniel Ho to name a few.
As a teacher, composer, recording artist, entertainer, and producer, Herb Ohta, Jr. solidly establishes himself in the company of musicians who promote the `ukulele in the music landscape today.
It is Herb’s goal to share the beauty of Hawai'i’s music, its culture, and the ‘ukulele to people all over the world. Herb has performed throughout the state of Hawai'i and has traveled overseas to Japan and the mainland USA. Herb Ohta, Jr. is certainly a vanguard in this new generation of ‘ukulele players.

Sounds great! Too bad I will not be able to attend. Wish I could but I get to see Herb anytime I want to since he from the same island I am from.

Hey it was a real nice show tonight at Happa! Happa is one of my favorite places to eat, by the way. Came here after the slack key festival and everyone enjoyed the food and have also been here with friends just having appetizers - it's all good.
Anyway the show was a very enjoyable, Daniel Ho dropped in to play a few songs, too! |

Mahalo nui to Doug for putting shows like this together. Herb's music is terrific and that night sounded even richer and sweeter. It was good to see Daniel and hear him. And of course good to see lots of friends. A big thanks to the Happa restaurant for hosting the event and I'm looking forward to more. By the way, it was packed.
