Shoots,
I now see the teachers for George's camp in June...
great mix of old ohana and new...
Can't make it...jet-lag and Euro's...
Holy sleep and money deficit SlackMan and women!
hope it's a one-year miss!
Ozzie, Bob, George, Jeff, Daniel...
and more...ARRRRGH!
Italy better still be good! I'm gonna eat my way to happiness over there.
When the moon hits my eye, I'll think of ya'll on the beach...
How many hours time difference from Venice to Maui?
Got Euros?
Ciao Aloha.

Ah, but that's Amore! But drooling like a pasta fazool, now that's REALLY amore!

Actually, fazool is fagioli, but I guess poetic license wins out. I think I shall make some for dinner today. Thanks for the idea.

Me ke aloha
Malama pono,
Wanda

I'm on the verge of pulling this post...
In the light of day...I'm a little humbled.
Many folks don't get to have such blessed mid-life crisis...
Italy or Hawaii?
PLEASE.

I've had wonderful times at George's camp, and hopefully again in the future.
meanwhile,
Our youngest, strongest and best are serving on a level of dedication, courage, and sacrifice that equals any in our country's history.
Yet meanwhile, for so many, it's business as usual.
Let's support them as they come home... so they don't end up on the streets or in shelters like many of our generation have.

I really wanted go to a music camp in Hawaii, but I knew my wife really wanted to take our small boys to Mexico, so we're going to Cancun for our summer vacation. We went to Kauai last year. Our young boys will enjoy snorkeling in Cozumel and walks in the Yucatan jungle. Meanwhile, I'll accept the discomfort and deprivation from the poolside with my ukulele in hand.

So here I am still...
Perhaps it's the crazy world that makes chasing Hawaiian soul-food so needed.
And if I can't get there for now, having music takes me there...
In my mind I'm gone to Hawaii.

If I become the last post on my own thread...well, maybe then time to remove post...
but for now, we ramble...
It's 3 AM again here...geez ain't spring break great!

Anyway, the uke, parlour guitar, and the violin are so easy to pack...not always ALL 3, but there's always room for uke (g-low.)
Of course, we don't pack three kids...and their gear.
Besides, it keeps the kids in shape as they pedal behind, knowing their ukuleles are waiting for them at the smoothie stand on that old highway down by Hilo!
We're their Zag-wagon.

Sometimes Jane drives while I play merry ukester on way to gigs, road-trip, or those spacial cranial adjustments.
Much less stressful, trip goes fast.
Jane good driver.
Sometimes Harvey sings along.
Makes those Colorado, and Bay Area traffic scenes flow like butter.

You just can't beat the uke for something to sneak around with, and keep a low profile.
(IF you don't sing like Tarzan when he's on the vine-- or me on the wine.)

Late in the evening, about sun-down,
High on the hill up above the town,
Uncle ZanTar play ukulele...
AAEEAAEEAAEEAA.
Well, I declare, I ain't heard nothin' like that since that Vogon Poetry gathering--or was it the Anita Bryant concert?

.
Very Funny, I remember that song with slightly more blue-grassy (and somewhat less Vogon-ey) lyrics!

quote:
In my mind I'm gone to Hawaii.

.
I light of the previous song, don't you mean:

In my mind I'm going to (Caro... err....uh...) Hawaii.

We will miss you on Maui, and "the bug" will miss the fiddle.
