We have put our Hilo Hale Huki condo on the market. The condos were built in 1973 when Helen Desha Beamer's house, Halehuki, had to be torn down because of termites. The condos were built by her daughter, Baby Beamer, aka Kawohikukapulani Dahlberg. Here is a link to our MLS listing or go to www.halehuki.net to get there.

So, it's your chance to live where Helen Desha Beamer composed her beautiful music and own a lovely 3 br, 2.5 bath two story condo with beautiful views of the Wailuku River and Hilo Bay (1486 sf). We are right across from Maui's canoe, for those of you who know the story of how he rescued his mother, Hina, from the Mo'o Kuna under rainbow falls.
You can email me for more information.

And, where, if I may ask, are you going? Off-Island, perhaps?

Hi Reid, I've been splitting my time between California and Hilo. We'll still be spending time there .. just time to downsize a bit. Health is also a factor, mine. Big Island medical services are not great and right now I need to keep an eye on a chronic condition. The joys of aging !! |

Lynn, I am glad for you that you are not giving up on Hilo, as I remember well how happy you said you were there. Sarah and I have a particular fondness for that area, too, having had an extended stay there.
We rented a house very near the hospital (up past Waianuenue) and we were appalled by its condition, and that of the other health service centers there, so we understand the health provision issue a bit. I also understand too well the "joys" of an old body deteriorating, but I won't entertain you with the details. I sincerely hope your eye improves.
Enjoy what you can, while you can.
