Howdy, (Western for Aloha) I live in Calgary. I run a small high-end acoustic music store from my home. I have the best selection of Ukuleles in Canada. - Sadly, that doesn't mean very much as no one in the music business here seems to take the little critter seriously. - But I do my best. I run the odd concert and workshop for traveling performers ie. James Hill will be performing here in a couple of weeks. :-) My wife and I just spent February in Hawaii with a week at the Aloha Music Camp. We are devastated to learn of the closure of Beach Village, and those happy days will remain with us for the rest of our lives. I also run a sound company that provides sound and engineering for most of the Acoustic events within a few hundred miles. (Festivals, Concerts, Music Camps, etc.)
Some of my interests are Old Music, Old Instruments, Old Sports Cars, Old Motorcycles, See a theme here???

Michael,
Welcome to the 'patch from a past Aloha Music Camp alum. Cool to hear that you are doing your thing up north. |

Michael - welcome to Taro Patch. I am glad to see/hear that we have another very knowledgeable friend joining us here on the forum. You will find so many knowledgeable and telented people here (not me - I know nothing.) And the swell thing is that folks are all so willing to share the knowledges, skills and abilities, plus jaw-jack and joke around a bit, as well. I'm not going to complain about the Cleveland, Ohio winters any longer. You probably would think I am a wimp.
It's spring anyway -- first baseball today and the Indians are on top.
Welcome, Michael. e komo mai.
Tell us about the guitar in your profile picture.

Michael, I'm not sure Taropatch can handle two MacLeods (or McLeod in my case; the a got dropped somewhere along the line from the Isle of Lewis to Moose Jaw, where my Dad was born in 1914). I skied in your beautiful country for years (Banff, Lake Louise, Sunshine) before I found Whistler/Blackcomb. Do you play at the Stampede?

Aloha, Michael. No relation to Scots piper Alan MacLeod (ex-Tannahill Weavers), are you? (He lived in Red Deer for a long time, but is now in the Vancouver area.) Perhaps you know my musician pal James Keelaghan?

Michael, I was somewhat disturbed to see that all of your interests begin with the word "old". You need to change it up man. Welcome. enjoy! |
