I just started learning to play in December 07. I'd like to learn the song "Morning Dew". Any one know where I can find an out of print copy of the book Slack Key Tuning for Guitar by Yuki Yamauchi or the tab for the song.

Aloha and welcome to the patch!

There is a lot of material available for that song (and thanks for using the original title for the song - not the currently used "E Ku'u Morning Dew") You might want to start with a search using the Key Word phrase "Morning Dew" on this site. Make sure you check the little box labeled "search Archives". There are references to books and tabs and LOTS of discussion about the song itself.

Even Eddie Kamae himself, co-composer of the song, must have given in to the pressure, as he used the "E Ku`u..." title on his latest CD, "Yesterday & Today." (Lawrence gets credit for steering me to the original sources, where he called it only "Morning Dew.")

Dear Arnett,

Welcome to the patch. Looks like you are making some progress. I see you are in Kingwood not too far from us. Please join our regular gathering every Sunday at 2:00 .
This Sunday May 25 we meet at my house 509 West Saulnier Street Houston, which is near downtown, between Taft and Stanford one block south of Dallas. You never know who will show up, but there will always be some people working on slack key. Questions? call my cell (713) 377 3856
