I'm looking for some information on the opera Prince of Hawaii, where the song "Ke Kali Nei Au" comes from.

Does anyone know the composer, when it was written, and what other songs were in it and a libretto?

Lovin' Lee is my favorite pasttime!!

King was the composer, but the first woman to sing the part was Helen Desha Beamer. King even wrote the ladies' part with Helen in mind and hand picked her to sing it.

Join me for the history of Hawaiian music and its musicians at Ho`olohe Hou at www.hoolohehou.org.
