Expectedly overshadowed by the passing of Auntie Nona, it should not go without mention that Uncle Tony Lindsey has passed away. He popularzied "Blue Darling" and made it a Hawaiian standard. But both of his recordings are classics and are the soundtrack to the Hawaiian parties of my childhood - even in NJ.

For some reason, Star-Bulletin just ran this obituary in yesterday's edition.

Unlike the mainland practice of funerals being scheduled soon after someone's passing, funerals here in the islands are often delayed -- awaiting arrival of the scattered relatives from near and far.

Reprinting Uncle Tony's obit in yesterday's Star-Bulletin was a way to inform island friends about next week's services for him.
