The following is a new release at mele.com: http://www.mele.com/music/artist/howard+a%60i/kaleihulumamo++%284-22-2008%29/ . The gentleman's voice is so smooth and beautiful. The samples sound great~ Is this gentleman a newcomer on the scene? He does not look like a youngster. Anyone have any info on him? Where does he live? Does he play live music anywhere?

Mahalo for any info.

Me ke aloha

Wearing my ignorance on my sleeve (as ever), does the Ai family use an `okina in their name or not? Half of the journalists are using one, half are not. But even the CD cover has no `okina (I would think Howard some hand in designing it), nor does his daughter's CD of a few year's ago.

I am baffled.

Oh, and I am very much looking forward to this CD. From the few duets he did on daughter Natalie's CD, this promises to be really nice.

His daughter, 2006 female vocalist of the year Natalie Ai Kamauu, has a wonderful album out, "'E." Howard and Olana are the founders of Halau Hula Olana. The 'ohana is from O'ahu. I'm definitely going to pick that album up when it comes out. I'd love to support the 'ohana in as many ways as possible.

He kehau ho'oma'ema'e ke aloha.

There is one when you pronounce it, as well as in Natalie's last name, (kah-MOW-ooh). I'm planning on sending Natalie another e-mail asking her why their names don't have 'okina in them on the album covers. An interesting question, I think. If she approves of me telling you guys the reason for it, I definitely will.

Howard Aʻi isn't a newcomer. He runs Hālau Hula ʻOlana with his wife. His voice indeed is beautiful!
