From the FAQ
Can I share music and/or tabs here? Does Taropatch.net have a policy on copyrighted materials? Taropatch.net does not allow its members to broadcast offers or requests for illegally copied materials to its community. Although this site supports the perpetuation of slack key guitar and `ukulele traditions in many ways, Taropatch.net must protect itself from the potential legal problems associated with copyright infringement of published materials. We believe there is too much good here to risk losing over intellectual property issues. Moreover, it is important to respect the works of artists and teachers so that they may come and share in the aloha and information exchange here too.
Original works by Taropatch.net members, works in public domain, and/or those used with the necessary written permissions of the original artist/publishers may be posted. All others may not be posted. Thank you for complying with this policy and making this website a friendly, informative and interesting resource. |

Also note that when you're dealing with public domain, not only must the song itself be in public domain but so must the arrangement. For example, you can't tab out Ozzie's arrangement of a public domain song and post it. When in doubt, contact the artist (or their label). |
Craig My goal is to be able to play as well as people think I can. |

The best way to do that is to play along with a recording. If your chords sound right... they are.
Both tunes you have mentioned (Sanoe and Pua Sadinia) are totally straight forward when it comes to harmony, so both are good choices to start.
Good luck! |

A tab of Pua Sardinia is in "Raymond Kane: Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar" by Reri Tava, now out of print. I found it at the University of Hawaii library and got an inter-library loan through San Jose, CA libraries (I live in San Jose).
This link should take you to the book at UH.
This book is great only if you are a desperate fan of Uncle Ray and struggle with videos and ear (like myself). The tabs are a little sloppy and of 1970's vintage - better than nothing. |

I learned to play this by watching Uncle Ray on a video. The chords are I, IV and V (G, C and D if he's tuned the guitar to open G). Hard to describe where the chord changes happen without words or written music, but it's pretty clear if you're listening to a recording. Happy to answer any fingering-type questions. Send me an email through the patch. LRR |
