When Paul gets mo bettah wit `ukulele, mebbe he can go Italy. Vicenza is too far from Reggio di Calabria and Oriolo where his ma's family is from or from or from San Pier Niceto where his Pa's family is from.
How cool is that to have an Italian `ukulele festival! Do they play Funiculi Funicula? |

Funiculì funiculà?? No, this is an old fashion song from Neaple area. The place of the uke fest is close Venice, so things are quite differents. Ciao Mimmo |

Auguri! Sono Herb Kai d' Hilo. Excusi. Parlo poco Italiano. Ma conosco piu bene.
You must invite John King (comments @ nalu-music.com). He plays "campanella" style on a custom "Gioachino Giussani" soprano ukulele. John King CD's "Johann Sebastian Bach" and "Royal Hawaiian Music" are very, very bellisimo. Go to "Amazon.com" per un campione. E' simili campane d' domo San Marco. Si! Io no esagerare!
E! Beppe Gambetta (Guitar) e Carlo Aonzo (Mandolin). Website www.aonzo.com. Email carlo @ aonzo.com.
Che' vediamo!?! Possibile!?! Aloha, Herb Kai |

Just stayed in Vincenza, 3 days... too early for the fest...But great...a little rainy, but that meant nice cool weather...
And it's an easy train ride into Venice... Vicenza has an active American military base (our friends are retired Air Force...staying on and leading bike trips throughout the region...and helping families)....Vincenza is a connection point for families with loved ones coming and going to Afganistan and Iraq...
Strong families, doing a tough job... ....most have young children.
By the way, gas there was somewhere around 10 dollars for one of our gallons (best as i can figure) ...so don't gripe too much...just get a more efficient auto!
But alas, too early for the ukes, and will have to see about that new repertoire and another language... yikes.
