Most of the SCSKS (SoCal Slack Key Society) and the USA (Ukulele Society of America) was there in Calrsbad last night! Even still, it was a very special, intimate evening. Steven's falsetto is magical and Jeff's guitar skills advance on a logarithmic scale every time I see him -- absolutely amazing. He even made Ledward's performance of Maunaloa Slack Key/Whee Ha Swing look easy! I just love his dedication and performance of Kahealani to his wife. Then Steven followed up with his own uptempo ballad to his wife - priceless!!!!! The two of them together are something special to remember. |

According to the Mayor of Kenmore, last night's concert turnout was the second-largest crowd they've had since the summer concert series began - AND - they want to have a Hawaiian act on the calendar every year now. Quite a good impression Steven and Jeff made! Thanks also to our guest bass player, Ellery, and our guest hula dancers from Kiele Dance Studio, for taking the show up a couple levels. Special mahalos to neeej for hosting the workshops, and to Tim, Chris & family for hosting/transporting the guys! |

Aloha no! Mahalo nui to everyone who hosted and took great care of us at each stop! Jeff and I had an absolutely wonderful trip and met so many great people along the way. We also pushed our musical creativity to the max with some memorable, intimate performances. Don't fret (pardon the pun) if you missed it. We had so much fun that we plan to have a hana hou very soon. Big mahalos to Susie, Mitch, Doug, Gregg and Maggie for coordinating and setting everything up! Thanks again!

Remember when Steve and Jeff said they would consider doing a CD together? That would be totally righteous! Being in the audience, one would never know these two had not practiced together. Awesome show! Ric Douglas
