Aloha taropatch.net friends in the San Francisco Bay Area!
The Kanikapila at the Kaleo Cafe was too much fun! Let's do it again! How about a Ki ho'alu Kanikajammapila at my house in Sunnyvale, CA (near San Jose) in May or June? Sunday afternoon seemed to work well before, so either: May 18, June 1st or June 29th. Anybody interested? Please let me know and we'll make some plans.

Eh How'zit Stacey!
It's just me slackkey (Bill Pellazar)!....I would love so much to be there in Sunnyvale Ca....How long would it take me you think from the Shores of Maui to your place in Sunny/Cali.? Don't I wish! Well, I may not be able to be there in the flesh, but i'll be there in Spirit.
I hope you'll get a large turn-out! I know there's alot of them "Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Players" close by or a nice drive away! Hey Stacey! Seems to me, you have deffinitely been bitten by the "Kiho'alu Bug"!!!!! And it's a good thing! You Go Girl! You'll never know...I may just decide to fly to San Franisco, and end up on that open stage near Fisherman's Warf! Or on a one of the benches at Pier 39!
You keep on up with your "Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar" playing....Take it one step at a time....Don't try to learn too much at one time....You'll burn yourself out really quick...Take one of your favorite songs....listen to it as many times as you need to....Then, try to play it just as much...In time you'll get a nice comfortable feel to the song....From there you make as many changes as you would listening and playing.....
It would be nice if we all could take a Magic pill to make us really really good!(Keola Beamer) Continuous practice, getting together with other Slack Key Guitar Players are the KEY to improve your "Slack Key Stylings"......No give-up! Keep it alive and well within yourself....I know that by the time I do get that chance to travel to S/F, S/Vale...wherever! And when we do cross paths....you'll be really good.
Take care Stacey! See ya when I see ya! God Bless, Good Health and Prosperity! A Hui Hou! Malama Pono.....

Aloha!

Good point, Lawrence! I appreciate your input & am happy that you & Cynthia are considering coming over for a Kanikapila! George's Maui Workshop is June 18th - June 22. So really June 1st or 29th would not conflict, but the 29th is cutting it too close for the lucky folks who get to stay in Hawai'i extra long. May 18th is the only May possibility because Cathe can't come on May 4, Mother's Day is May 12, & the 25th is during Memorial Day Weekend.
So either Sunday, May 18th or June 1st. Anybody interested?
Mahalo nui loa for all your kindness & support, slackkey Bill. Wish you could join us from Maui, but we'd all rather join you there! |

Aloha Stacey, Either date would be fine with me. Or, to put it another way, I'll re-arrange whatever I have to, but will be there with bells on. I'm hoping Jill will be free as well.
Oh, by the way, can I play yer guitar? can I, can I, can I, huh? huh? huh? please please can I, okay?
Alive, well, and reasonably soaked, but safely esconed in the Santa Cruz Mts.
Hey John, did I mention it rains down here? And you Seattleites(ers)or whatever they call themselves are always complaining. |

Aloha kakou.... Okies, I'll vote for May 18th. Everyone is beling so flexible we may never settle on a specific date! :::giggle::: What do we bring, Stacey? Any specific requests? Salad? Dessert? Autnie Cathe's famous Phad Thai? Do say "yes you can play my guitar" guitar so Commander Piffle can stop begging!!! so embarrassing from a man in a pith helmet....<G> Cathe |

Aloha Cyber Ohana! Oh boy ~ I'm getting excited now! This kanikapila is gonna be fun! Any objections to May 18th? Sounds good to me!
I'm so glad that you can make it, Cathe & Cmdr Piffle ~ I hope Jill can join us too! Of course, you can play my guitar ALL you like, Cmdr Piffle! That's one of the best parts about getting together with everyone ~ you get to check out everyone's awesome guitars! quote: slackkey: If I remember correctly...Stacey's a really good cook...
Slackkey Bill, you remember correctly that I love to cook and I will make up several yummy dishes for everyone! Auntie Cathe I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to try your famous Pad Thai!!!!!! Maybe we could do it potluck and everyone can bring whatever they'd like to share. We better not talk about food too much though ~ you know how that goes on this forummm. |
